Chris Parlour will wince if characterize the company he heads as offering business travelers highly professional 'one-stop shop'. But it is hard not to describe the services by Broads Travel as anything but that, something he reluctantly acknowledges.

'I really do hate the term one-stop shop,' explains the managing director, 'but actually that is what we offer.

'All that business travelers need, we can provide. We also have the experienced and professional staff to advise them on the best flights to consider, the best hotels, in fact, anything they need.

'We know how time-consuming making these arrangements can be, so we've taken all that burden off them and made things simple.

'This is also 24-hour operation so if they need to make last-minute changes, which we accept happens all the time when it comes to business trips, then someone is available to make the necessary arrangements. That goes for the start of the trip and if they are already overseas and need to extend trip or fly on to somewhere else at short notice.'

Stepping through the front door of the company's base in Mere Green is certainly revelation. The front area of the offices, formerly two houses knocked into one, forms the company's highly successful leisure travel shop.

But, bit like swan on lake, whereas everything is calm efficiency on the surface, behind the scenes is where the real action is taking place. Not that the offices are blur of manic activity. But Broads' small team of consultants and staff do fairly decent impression of perpetual motion. There is always call to be answered, an itinerary to draw up, research on the best deals and new developments to be done, above all trips to organize to bewildering array of destinations.

Broads' business travel client base covers the Midlands and little further afield. The company is geared up to organize trips anywhere in the world, from local conference and incentive events to long-haul visits.

Some of our clients have business travel budgets of up to pounds 400,000,' adds Chris. 'These are people who expect to get value for money, but also want very good standard of service. We've found lot of business travelers are getting cheesed off with the standard level of service, they are after something bit different, more comfort, better quality
